Apple Fritter

Went with friends for brunch after having heard really good stories about the place, and it was good indeed, but with some shortcomings. First, the place is very small and with very few parking spots. You may have to drive a few blocks out to park.Then, for some reason, they don't have a menu on the wall and only a two or three for people on the line to check out, which makes it very difficult to figure out what you want before you get to the cashier and order. I guess this is easier once you're a repeat customer and already know what you want.Food is quite good and with plenty of variety, but portions are small. Service is friendly but leaning on the slow side.BUT, you can have a sandwich on a donut (check out the YOLO sandwich), which makes up for everything else 😁 Good place overall unless it's packed.

You gotta show up right when they open to get the fresh donuts! It's worth it! I got an apple fritter and fruity pebble donut to share with my girlfriend and they were both delicious! Be warned; the apple fritters are huge! The brunchurrito with hot link sausage and tapatio is on point if you like spicy. I loved that they were showing old cartoons like Tom and Jerry on the TV. Good stuff for a great spot!

Forget the humble establishment. This has to be one of the best breakfast places for Frenchtoast ever. Great coffee, cheap prices, but what a Frenchtoast. I had the Churros variant and yes, you actually get a great crispy churros on top with sweet cream to blend the two textures. And the service was blazing fast. Coming back for more.

Parking is hard but the food is great! Great brunch option and they make a good espresso drink. If you want burgers they got those too. Quick service so you'll be in and out quickly. Get your four legged friends and sit outdoors!

Great little breakfast spot with excellent food. Everything that was served around me looked great. I had the bacon hash with eggs sunny side up and it was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The hash was loaded with tons of bacon and it even had some American cheese in it that gave it just that little extra. Delicious, I would highly recommend! FYI, the apple fritters run out early so if you want one, get there early.

Apple Fritter is an interesting brunch place in Foster City. Their menu item naming is just as interesting as their decor. They have a donut fridge as well. The veggie scramble was delicious. Come early so you don't have to wait in line!

Blueberry fritter was huge & tasty, but my fave was the blended dark chocolate frapaccino!

One of the favorite neighborhood cafe. They have good breakfast options. The place is very busy but the wait is not long. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

I stayed in San Mateo for an year, yet discovered this place only today, that too accidentally. The place was PACKED with people late morning and I decided to check it out. I had just Turkey Sandwich and the taste was great. Will try more items in the future.

Great place for breakfast/brunch/lunch in San Mateo. They serve fresh food cooked the way you want and good coffee. The bonus is their fresh donuts and fritters. Grab some to go after you are done eating your healthy food The atmosphere is homey and unrushed on a weekday morning, busier on weekends. Lots of outdoor seating for small and large groups but some seating is in full sun. Not a lot of ambience around the place -- it's on the edge of a neighborhood that's mostly commercial. It serves a clientele that arrive in cars and when it's busy the small parking lot fills up and can be tricky to navigate.

Its cute and very homie.. ALot to see inside..breakfast sandwich was amazing and got me a Mayan Moka and it tasted delicious!!

Hip little donut shop with lunch options too. They never have their namesake apple fritters when I go- will have to try to get there earlier.

The scrambles were delicious. The wait wasn't as bad as it looked we were done ordering and seated in about 20 minutes on Sunday 11am. The fries were actually really good. Some of the best ones I have had. Try the burger scramble. Pretty good.

Amazing place for yummy breakfast, big lines on weekends. Try going here during weekdays. This place has a very vibrant atmosphere, friendly staff and yummy food.

Food is delicious, both the hot breakfast and the baked goods. Service is quick even when it's busy. Order at the counter and don't be afraid to share a table with strangers.

Food was amazing and delicious! This is my 3rd time coming here and again I’m not disappointed. It’s a self serve type of setting and a open, shared sitting. The chairs are metal and it’s usually cold. They want a in and out type of place so they don’t want you to be to comfortable. The people that work here seem to have little to no personality or maybe they just weren’t awake yet. But the food is amazing. Let’s face it restaurants in the Bay Area can be snobby because no matter what they will make money. Bay Area doesn’t need to have customer service we are lucky enough to get good food. So here is to a place that has good food! That’s it! :) enjoy

This place was hoppin'. Great food all around; matched by a great atmosphere.

Decent coffee - that’s why it gets two stars instead of just one. Breakfast was cooked too long, bland, and oily. Feels like a greasy dive that was painted over as a cool hipster place including a decent sounding menu but did not upgrade the kitchen staff. Tastes like sub-par ingredients thrown together without any understanding of how to cook fresh great tasting food. Apple fritter tasted like the oil used was old.

Parking is very difficult and limited. Food was decent. Bird's Nest was good but French toast with fruit pebbles was just ok. A lot of option with pork which I don't eat so my options are limited.

cozy eatery with really good food. donuts! tater tots! what more can a man ask for? I had the Birds Nest. it was very tasty and filling. there was a bit of a wait and service was a bit slow, but the food was definitely worth it.

Cute place, clearly very loved by regulars, my only few problems were my food was cold and I ordered white chip pancakes but the chips weren't in the batter, they were on top so the sweetness was so concentrated that it hurt my stomach. Also good luck finding parking. When they were putting in my husbands name for the order, she had his card in front of her and still wasnt able to type it out so the person passing out the to go food was never able to call for us.

I've been several times but never in time for their Apple fritters. Last week I was finally able to get there when they opened. OMG! These Apple fritters are the best I've ever had. Well worth getting up early and well worth the wait. Their menu is awesome as well. I've tried a few different dishes and they are all wonderful. Good size portions, well priced and always delivered by wait staff with smiles. I'll be back to try more!

I love this place!!! The food is really good and unique. I also love the homemade donuts!! I absolutely love the Bacon hash. I think that's what it's called-it has jalapenos and spicy sauce. I also had one of the breakfast sandwiches. I will definitely be coming here for breakfast and recommending this place to friends. Note that parking is a little limited and sometimes there's a line, but it's only to order. It usually doesn't take too long and it's worth it!!

Super cool place to have some breakfast or a lunch, the only place I know that does a burger in a doughnut.

I had the birds nest which was pretty good. The Mayan latte was excellent. Definitely a must try if you are in the area.

Definitely get an apple fritter if you come here, there an amazing kind of baked on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside! The breakfast portions are quite substantial and since the hash browns were so good I could've even gone without the scramble 😉

Apple fritters is my number one restaurant I’m there almost every weekend. I also really enjoy how they decorated the place, and dont get me started on the food ( its delicious) I also really like the staff, they are really kind and almost every time i go my order is ready in under 10 minutes!!!! Good place to eat!

This breakfast place was perfect for our brunch on Sunday morning. it was pretty busy but we easily found a table and ordered our food. I ordered the instagrammawich and it was delicious. The hash browns are not as crunchy as I like but it was still a great meal. They had hot sauce available as well as ketchup on the tables. The atmosphere is very fun and the place was busy so it seemed very popular. The donuts were delicious! The donuts were so large it seemed like they were two donuts in one going. Great price point for the Bay area. They have outdoor as well as indoor seating. It is self-serve and self-clean up. Overall the food was absolutely delicious and we had a fun brunch outing!

Delicious brunch spot if you’re feeling indulgent. Apple fritters are bomb if you get them fresh. Veggie scramble with hula sauce hit the spot. Come early because gets crowded fast.

Breakfast Luther was so yummy, we all loved it!! Nothing like a yummy breakfast sandwich on a glazed donut! Plus the staff is super friendly even giving us a banana to feed the baby. Will definitely be back to taste the fruity pebbles french toast. 😁

7.25 for a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a glazed donut. Yummmm. I have had their breakfast burrito before as well. While it's good it is 11.95 which is pricey for a breakfast burrito. I'll stick with the sandwich which was about half the price and the perfect amount of food.

What I like about the food here is that it’s basic American food. Not amazing not bad either. Had the egg and cheese on English muffin, it’s good, tasted oily to me. Pancake is ok too. Staffs are ok not friendly, not rude. The black dude at cashier seems like he hates his job. It’s basic nothing more, nothing less. Not sure I would recommend anyone here.

Everything is delicious! Nothing on the menu is "healthy" but if you are looking for unashamed deliciousness then this is the spot. Amazing food! Highly recommended for anyone in the area!

I went here for the first time today and thought their food was delicious! I got the toothfairy and my boyfriend got the sausage scramble. Both were delicious! Our food came quickly and everyone working was very nice. We also got fritters to go which were amazing. They have a great coffee and tea selection as well. We left very happy and full.

Delicious sandwich! It was just a little to spicy for my liking so I asked for a side of sour cream which helped a lot!

The bacon donuts are great definitely have things you won't get at your normal donut shop. Get the breakfast burrito with chorizo you won't be disappointed!

this place is a hidden gem nestled between the 101 and 92 intersections. it has a small lot but there is also street parking a short walk down in the neighborhood. you order at the front counter then sit down with your number. the inside seating isn’t too big but my party managed to find a seat on a saturday morning. there is also seating outside which is really nice on a sunny day. i ordered a breakfast sandwich with tater tots and it was pretty good. prices are fair for standard bay area brunch. they also have lattes which are so so.

Great breakfast/brunch Favorite spot to go to around here. Mimosas are bit too expensive, if they did bottomless this place would be 10/10 but outside of that the food is amazing and tastes very fresh.

Consistent food after multiple visits. The Birds Nest is our favorite though sandwiches are good too. Fries have the nice crunchy texture outside and soft inside. Usually we grab a donut or two with the meal orders because they are really good. The lines can be long during weekend breakfast/brunch hours.
